With freelancing and long time traveling becoming more and more common, no wonder that digital nomad is now a trendy and common expression. And with Cambodia being a cheap and safe country, with lovely people and full of inspiration everywhere, it makes a lot of sense to be one of the stops to any digital nomad traveling around Asia.
The local community is aware of this and in recent years different co-working spaces have been popping out in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Here we gave you some ideas of places for co-working in Cambodia and meet the local entrepreneurs and freelancers!
It’s one of the most famous coworking spaces in Phnom Penh, the Impact Hub on street 306 (between Norodom boulevard and street 51) is as well a social incubator filled with events, coaching sessions, networking with change makers and entrepreneurship support programs – the perfect place for meeting the young crowd doing something and get inspired!
Also a coworking space that holds lots of events such as workshops, impact talks and startup parties for you to mingle with the local entrepreneurial community, Emerald Hub on street 169 (11th floor of PPIU building) is another option for your digital nomadism.
For the ones working in technology, TEKHUB is a program of Impact Hub and Asia Foundation for tech startups, providing workspace, coaching, events and networking, all in the 2nd floor of Asia Foundation building on street 242.
Another of our favorites, Small World with its more natural and less urban feeling, it’s the first startup community created by local youth that appeared in the kingdom, helping young entrepreneurs to test and develop their ventures, all this with a beautiful and quiet office on street 604 near Toul Kork.
For the bold females entrepreneurs and freelancers, WeCreate Cambodia on street 322 is an entrepreneurial center for businesses and startups owned by women, great place to meet your peers and get inspired by awesome ladies changing the country for the better.
Another inspiring space, coLab on street 163 near Russian market, was the first coworking space in cambodia, including a hackerspace and an active community of makers working on interesting projects.
For the ones traveling or wanting to stay in Siem Reap, The 1961 is a must, with its creative and artistic vibe. Check it out on 211 Osaphear Street, Upper West River Side, to experience this coworking space plus art gallery, events venue and shop with really cool and unique products.
Another great option is Angkor Hub on 896 Angkor Night Market street (just 500 meters from the famous pub street), an unique venue with coworking but also coliving space, a heaven for digital nomads with relaxed environment, garden and packages with everything included from sleeping room to working desk, great wifi, hut for sktpe meetings and plenty of hammocks for power naps!
If you are working while traveling, Cambodia is definitely a place to check out for your next projects. Plenty of things to see and do while, of course, keeping some hours each day for your work in some awesome coworking space. Perfect place for any digital nomad out there, come to try for yourself!
